Accounting Specialist

Department: Admin & Payables
Location: Alpharetta, GA

Job Summary

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of Abacus Advisors, with a primary focus on client bill pay, settlement accounting, and financial transaction processing. This role ensures the accurate and timely management of client expenses, settlement disbursements, and accounting records while providing exceptional service to clients and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable working with accounting systems and technology in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

  • Bill Pay
    • Review bills in bill.com
    • Generate Unpaid Bills Report in QuickBooks Online
    • Communicate with Client for payment approvals
  • Settlement Support Process
    • Review Settlements once processed and communicate with client
  • General Accounting
    • General accounting processes to support Accountant
    • Record deposits, checks and expense transactions
    • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
    • Track Advanced Client Costs by client
    • Track Trust transactions by client

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Accounting Degree (Preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and embraces new technologies, QuickBooks Online experience a plus
  • Process-minded
  • Collaborative and great team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient with or able to learn the administrative and financial systems and applications used in the organization.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds at times.

Schedule

  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Work Location

  • On-site Alpharetta Office
